Hi,

My name is DAVE MOZEALOUS and I am part of Team Climb On!

This is my blog about cycling in and around Boulder, and about the various big rides that I do. I post a lot of photos of the rides I do, and occasionally offer something insightful.

The reason I write this blog as I found it very difficult to find good information on the web about cycling in the most “Bicycle friendly community in the US” on the web.  Not sure why there is so little info on the web, but I aim to change that.  Maybe it is just hard to find.

I also use cycling and this blog as a vehicle for philanthropy.  Over the last 2 years I have raised over $5,000 for various charitable foundations like the Pacific Coast Chapter of the National MS Society, and this blog gives me the opporunity to keep in touch with all the generous individuals and organizations that have donated to the various causes I support.

I have taken part in several big rides over the past years, so you find a lot of information about those rides:

  • The Bay to Bay MS 150 in Souther California.  A two day bike adventure from Irvine California to Mission Bay San Diego that raises money for the Pacific Coast Chapter of the National MS Society.
  • The Rosarito to Ensenada bike ride.  A one day 50 mile bike ride in Baja Mexico that raises money for the International Red Cross.
  • The Tour De Cure Colorado.  A single day century (100 miles) or metric century (60 miles) that raises money for various Diabetes causes

And I am signed up for various other big rides over the next year:

  • The Ride the Rockies.  A 6 day, 380 mile bike ride across the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
  • The Tripple Bypass. A 1 day, 120 mile-3 mountain pass killer of a ride in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
  • The Bay to Bay MS 150 in Souther California.

Why I ride?

I ride because it gives me a good opportunity to get outside and enjoy and related to my friends in a passion that is common to all of us.  Through biking I have become closer to many friends than I would have done otherwise.  It also gives me a goal to return to a healthy lifestyle.  Although I have never been anywhere close to overweight, I have at times become very out of shape, drank to much, and basically waisted my life.  Cycling pulls me out of that.

I thank my friends Arlyn and Andy for first convincing me that it was a good idea to get on a bike.  Andy actually picked out my first road bike for me.  I also appreciate my friends Ajay, Wakefield and Mistiza for sharing their passion for cycling with me, and for Firger, whose mother struggles with MS for helping me appreciate the lives of others over myself.
